It would be nice if you could, in HTML, provide a fallback for font glyphs that aren’t available (like how alt was originally supposed to replace an image entirely if the image couldn’t be loaded), but as near as I can that’s never been seriously proposed.
These changes mean source maps are much smaller (thanks to VLQ) and much easier to encode and decode.
